The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an Inquiry held in Durban on 15 November 2017, Jockey Warren Kennedy was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7, in that as the rider of SHARP SEATTLE in Race 3 at Greyville Racecourse on 12 November 2017, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to other runners approaching the 250m.

Jockey Kennedy pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Inquiry Board, after considering the evidence, found Jockey Kennedy guilty and imposed a suspension from riding in races for a period of seven days.

Jockey Kennedy has the Right of Appeal against the finding and the penalty imposed.
