The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa confirms that at an Inquiry held in the Stipendiary Stewards Boardroom at Turffontein Racecourse on Saturday 12 January 2019, Jockey Devin Habib was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7, in that as the rider of RUNNING BRAVE, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to other runners when he shifted inwards, in the concluding stages of Race 5 at the Turffontein Racecourse on 6 January 2019.   

Jockey Habib pleaded guilty to the charge. 

The Inquiry Board found Jockey Habib guilty of the charge and ruled that he be suspended from riding in races for a period of seven days. 

Jockey Habib has the Right of Appeal against the penalty imposed.
