The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an Inquiry held in Durban on 14 October 2020, Jockey Donovan Dillon was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7. The particulars being in that as the rider of MACARA, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to other runners at the 1000m in Race 1, at Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse on the 27 September 2020.
Jockey Dillon pleaded guilty to the charge.
The Inquiry Board found Jockey Dillon guilty as charged and after considering all factors in mitigation, imposed a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of seven days.
Jockey Dillon waived his Right of Appeal against the penalty imposed and permission was granted for him to take his suspension from 22 October 2020 to the 28 October 2020.
