INQUIRY – JOCKEY DENIS SCHWARZ

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an Inquiry held at the Vaal Racecourse on 14 October 2021, Jockey Denis Schwarz was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7.  The particulars being that as the Rider of WINNING QUEEN, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to OLYMPIC SILK (R Munger) in the concluding stages of Race 9, at the Vaal Racecourse on 4 October 2021.

 Jockey Schwarz pleaded not guilty to the charge, but was found guilty as charged. 

The Inquiry Board, after considering the mitigating factors and taking his record into account, ruled that Jockey Schwarz be suspended from riding in races for a period of seven days.   

Jockey Schwarz was given the Right of Appeal against both the finding and the penalty imposed.
