INQUIRY - APPRENTICE JOCKEY RACHEL VENNIKER

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an Inquiry held at Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse on 17 November 2021, Apprentice Jockey Rachel Venniker was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7.  The particulars being that as the Rider of JACK’S BIRD she failed to ensure that she did not cause interference to CURVATION (S Khumalo) at the 1500m in Race 6 at Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse on 7 November 2021. 

 Apprentice Jockey Venniker pleaded guilty to and was found guilty of the charge. 

The Inquiry Board after considering the evidence and the mitigating factors, imposed a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of 7 days. 

Apprentice Jockey Venniker has the Right of Appeal against the penalty imposed.
