The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an Inquiry held in Johannesburg on 26 January 2022, Trainer J H Borman was charged with a contravention of Rule 72.1.25. The particulars being that he conducted himself in an improper manner by using foul language when being screened at the Covid-19 Vaccination Control Site at Turffontein Racecourse on 27 November 2021.
Mr Borman pleaded guilty to the charge.
The Inquiry Board found Mr Borman guilty of the charge and after considering the mitigating factors presented, imposed a penalty of a fine of R5 000, of which R2 500 is suspended for 12 months, provided that Mr Borman is not found guilty of a similar offence during this period.
Mr Borman has the Right of Appeal against the penalty imposed.
