The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an Inquiry held in Durban on 14 June 2022, Jockey Sean Veale was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.2. The particulars being that as the rider of RASPBERRY BERET, he rode this filly in an incompetent and unprofessional manner when he shifted inwards and struck Apprentice Jockey Mfanelo Zuma (ALABAMA SKY) with his crop on two occasions, in Race 4 at Hollywoodbets Scottsville Racecourse on 4 June 2022.
Jockey Veale pleaded guilty to the charge .
The Inquiry Board after considering the evidence, found Jockey Veale guilty as charged and imposed a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of 14 days.
Jockey Veale has the Right of Appeal against the penalty imposed.
