The National Horseracing Authority (“NHA”)


Director in terms of Clause 15.4.5.3 of the NHA Constitution

 

The Nominations Committee (“NomCom”) is required to recommend one new individual for appointment as a non-executive Board Director to fill the current vacancy on the Board. Any person wishing to submit their details for consideration for this vacancy must be a Member in terms of Clause 15.1.1, but excluding any Trainer, Assistant Trainer, Stable Employee, Jockey or Apprentice Jockey and also meet the requirements of Clause 15.4.5.3 of the Constitution. Clause 15.4.5.3 reads as follows:

15.4.5.3 ……….. shall be domiciled in the Western Cape RACING DISTRICT.


The position of non-executive director is remunerated at the current fixed fee of R20 000 per Board meeting for a maximum of six meetings per year. No fees are payable for serving on any of the sub-committees which is a requirement of every non-executive Board member.

In considering the recommendation of any qualifying person for nomination for this vacancy on the Board, the Nominations Committee shall have regard to the skills, expertise and qualifications required by the National Board Director to perform its functions effectively and efficiently as well as its preference to fulfil this position from a transformation and gender perspective.

Submission close on Friday 19 August 2022. Should you not hear from the Nominations Committee by 19 September 2022, please take that as indication that you will not be recommended for appointment at this time for the current Board vacancy.
