INQUIRY – TRAINER L F ROBINSON

The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa (NHA) confirms that at an Inquiry held in Durban on Friday, 16 January 2026, Trainer Mr Robinson was charged with a contravention of Rule 10.5.1. The particulars being that, as a licensed trainer, he failed to provide the requisite level of care and treatment to the horse FIRE TIGER whilst under his care.

Trainer Robinson pleaded not guilty to the charge but was found guilty of the charge.

In determining an appropriate penalty, the Inquiry Board considered that there was no record of previous welfare concerns against the Trainer. Accordingly, and in terms of Rule 81.2.3, Mr F Robinson was issued a warning, together with a clear directive to adhere to NHA Rules regarding the welfare of horses under his care and to maintain the required treatment records.
