The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an Inquiry held in the Stipendiary Stewards’ Boardroom in Durban on 8 November 2020, Jockey Anton Marcus was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7.  The particulars being that as the rider of VALIENTE, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to CAPTAINS FORT, leaving the 150m in Race 8, run at Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse on 7 October 2020. 

Jockey Marcus pleaded guilty to the charge. 

The Inquiry Board found Jockey Marcus guilty of the charge and after considering all factors in mitigation, imposed a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of seven days. 

Jockey Marcus has the Right of Appeal against the penalty imposed.
