The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an inquiry held at Hollywoodbets Scottsville Racecourse on 31 January 2021, Jockey Gareth Wright was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7. The particulars being that as the rider of MASHARI, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to other runners at the 100m in Race 9 at Hollywoodbets Scottsville Racecourse on 17 January 2021.
Jockey Wright pleaded guilty to the charge.
The Inquiry Board found Jockey Wright guilty and after considering the evidence, imposed a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of seven days.
Jockey Wright has the Right of Appeal against the penalty imposed.
