Inquiry – Jockey Craig Zackey

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an Inquiry held on 23 March 2022, Jockey Craig Zackey was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7.  The particulars being that as the rider of JURY DUTY he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to GEORGIE GEORGE leaving the 200m in Race 2 on 16 March 2022 at Durbanville Racecourse. 

Jockey Zackey pleaded guilty and was found guilty of the charge. 

The Inquiry Board after considering the video evidence, his riding record and mitigating factors, imposed a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of 7 days. 

Jockey Zackey has the Right of Appeal against the penalty imposed.
