The National Horseracing Authority confirms that an Appeal was heard in Johannesburg on 2 December 2020.

At an Inquiry held in Zimbabwe on 21 October 2019, Trainer Mrs B P Fisher was charged with a contravention of Rule 73.2.4 in that she was the trainer of the horse HILLAH THE HUN when a specimen which was taken from this horse after it had ran in and won the 3rd race run at Borrowdale Racecourse on 28 April 2019, disclosed upon analysis the presence of caffeine which is a prohibited substance in terms of the Rules.

Trainer Fisher pleaded not guilty to the charge, however the Inquiry Board found her guilty and imposed a penalty in the form of a fine of R34 000.

After considering all the evidence, the Appeal Board upheld the decision of the Inquiry Board.

Mrs Fisher’s appeal fee has been forfeited.

Furthermore, in terms of Rule 72.3.2 HILLAH THE HUN is disqualified from the said race and the provisions of Rule 67.7.8 shall apply.
