Dear NHA Member
Further to my letter of 7 July 2021, and on behalf of the National Board (“the Board”), I intend to respond further to the written requisition of a Special General Meeting of the members of the NHA to consider and vote on the two proposed resolutions to reconstitute the Board and vitiate the position of the Racing Control Executive (“RCE”). In this regard I would like to share some further thoughts with members on the role and function of the NHA, how the NHA interacts with participants, the Board composition and the imperative of the Board’s independence.
Dear NHA Member
On 15 June 2021 the National Board resolved to call a Special General Meeting (“SGM”) to be held on 1 September 2021, for purposes of discussing and voting on proposed amendments to the Constitution of the NHA. The Board will in due course give notice of the SGM in terms of clause 12.3 of the Constitution.
The National Horseracing Authority (NHA) wishes to advise all its Members that the written requisition with signatures, as co-ordinated by the S A National Trainers Association (SANTA) (as per prior correspondence received via email), has arrived at the Head Office of the NHA on 10 June 2021 at 10h33.
The NHA will now commence with the process of internal vetting of these documents.
