QUANTUM THEORY has earned a revised merit rating of 113, up from his pre-race rating of 111, following his victory in the Listed Betway Spring Spree Stakes over 1200m at the Vaal Classic Track on Saturday. The Handicappers opted to use NIGHT BOMBER, who finished third, as the line horse, leaving his rating unchanged on 96. 

The runner-up, KAMENSKY, was adjusted upward by one point, moving from 104 to 105. 

Several horses received rating reductions after this race: 

• COSMIC STAR was dropped to 100 from 103
• RED BOMBER was reduced to 99 from 103
• LEAD THE CHARGE was reassessed down to 94 from 99
