The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an Inquiry held in Johannesburg on Tuesday, 20 October 2020, Jockey Chase Maujean was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.2.

The particulars being in that during the running of Race 1 at Turffontein Racecourse on 26 September 2020, whilst riding the horse PUERTO MANZANO (ARG):


The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an Inquiry held in Durban on 14 October 2020, Jockey Donovan Dillon was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7.  The particulars being in that as the rider of MACARA, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to other runners at the 1000m in Race 1, at Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse on the 27 September 2020.


 The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an inquiry held at Durbanville Racecourse on 13 October 2020, Jockey Grant van Niekerk was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7.  The particulars being that as the rider of AUTUMN SKY, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to PERFECT TRUST, when he directed his mount outwards at the 400m in Race 2 at Durbanville Racecourse on 13 October 2020.


The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an inquiry held at the Vaal Racecourse on 8 October 2020, Jockey Craig Bantam was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.3.  The particulars being, that in Race 1 at the Vaal Racecourse on 1 October 2020, he failed to ride the horse TIME TO COME out to the end of the race, thereby prejudicing his chances of obtaining third place.   


The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an Inquiry held in the Stipendiary Stewards Boardroom at the Vaal Racecourse on 1 October 2020, Jockey Craig Zackey was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7.  The particulars being that as the rider of BROOKLYN BRIDGE, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to FRESH FROM THE US in Race 7 at the Vaal Racecourse on 10 September 2020.   


The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an inquiry held in Johannesburg on 15 September 2020, Workrider Mr Vusumzi Sithetho was charged with a contravention of Rule 72.1.28.  The particulars being that at the Vaal Racecourse on 1 September 2020, he committed a negligent act with regards to his weight, in that subsequent to weighing out for Race 1 on the day, he utilised the bathroom facilities which had a direct bearing on his weight.  This resulted in him weighing in after the race at more than half a kilogram under the weight at which he was declared out at and SHOWDOWN KID being disqualified from the race in question, after an objection that was lodged by the Clerk of the Scales, was upheld.


The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an inquiry held in Johannesburg on Wednesday 19 August 2020, Jockey D L Habib was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop).  The particulars of the charge being that he struck FLASHLIGHT more than twelve (12) times in Race 1 run at Turffontein Racecourse on 15 August 2020.
