The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa confirms that at an Inquiry held in Johannesburg on Friday, 6 December 2024, Jockey G Lerena was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7.  The particulars being that as the rider of KOMMETJIE STORM, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to MIDNIGHT FUSION (C Habib) when he shifted out at the 300m, in Race 5 at Turffontein Racecourse on Friday, 15 November 2024.


The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa confirms that at an Inquiry held in Gqeberha on Thursday, 28 November 2024, Jockey Xolane Charles Ndlovu was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7. The particulars being that as the rider of WOMAN OF POWER he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to MONTELENA (C Habib) when he shifted outwards at the 50m in Race 6 at Fairview Racecourse on 22 November 2024. 


The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa confirms that at an Inquiry held in Gqeberha on Friday, 22 November 2024, Jockey J Gates was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7. The particulars being that as the rider of SAN QUINTIN, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to NOTHINGELSEMATTERS (C Maujean) and ISLAND MASTER (D Schwarz) when he shifted in at the 300m in Race 4 at Fairview Racecourse on 15 November 2024.


The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa confirms that at an Inquiry held in Gqeberha on 15 November 2024, Trainer Emmanuel Kaknis was charged with a contravention of Rule 57.1.2.  The particulars being that he failed to ensure that MAFIABAGSTHEMONEY was presented in the security area at least 60 minutes before Race 1 in which it was carded to run in, at Fairview Racecourse on 01 November 2024.  This resulted in MAFIABAGSTHEMONEY being late for pre-race blood specimen collection.


The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa confirms that at an Inquiry held in Johannesburg on Thursday, 7 November 2024, Jockey J Gates was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7. The particulars being that as the rider of CAN'T CATCH ME, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to CALIDA (M Yeni) when he shifted in in the concluding stages in Race 7 at the Vaal Racecourse on 17 October 2024.  


The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa confirms that at an Inquiry held in Gqeberha on Friday 08 November 2024, Jockey Marco van Rensburg was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7.  The particulars being that as the rider of MYTHICAL DREAM, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to SYMBOL OF LOVE when he shifted ground at the 300m, in Race 3 at Fairview Racecourse on 25 October 2024. 


The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an Inquiry held in Cape Town on Saturday, 19 October 2024, Jockey C Zackey was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7.  The particulars being that as the rider of PAS DE NOM, he failed to take the necessary corrective measures to ensure that he did not cause interference to NAVY STRENGTH and HOLDING THUMBS when he shifted in at the 250m and to FUTURE TURN at the 150m in Race 6, the CAPE TURF CLUB SYNDICATES CLASS 3 over 1800m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville Racecourse on 10 September 2024. 


The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa confirms that at an Inquiry held in Johannesburg, on Wednesday, 18 September 2024, Jockey G Lerena was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline 3 in Appendix E on the use of the crop).  The particulars being that he, as the rider of ANDI’S GIRL misused his crop by striking this filly forward of the saddle whilst his crop hand was off the reins, during Race 1, at Turffontein Racecourse on 31 August 2024.


The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa confirms that at an Inquiry held in Johannesburg, on Wednesday, 18 September 2024, Jockey G Lerena was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline 3 in Appendix E on the use of the crop).  The particulars being that he, as the rider of WAITFORGREENLIGHT, misused his crop by striking this filly forward of the saddle whilst his crop hand was off the reins, during Race 8, at Vaal Racecourse on 20 August 2024. 


The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa confirms that at an Inquiry held in Johannesburg, on Wednesday, 18 September 2024, Jockey G Lerena was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline 3 in Appendix E on the use of the crop). The particulars being that he as the rider of ARIEL’S JET, misused his crop by striking this mare forward of the saddle whilst his crop hand was off the reins, during Race 9, at Turffontein Racecourse on 24 August 2024.
